Maya Facciolo, Ecological Design Consultant
ENV SP
With a background in regenerative design, agroecology, social justice, and extensive travel abroad, Maya weaves these threads into her sustainability work today. She seeks opportunities to sew seeds of nature-based solutions, regenerative design, ecological restoration, sustainable and equitable systems, and human health and wellbeing. Her devotion to the practice is fueled by her connection with the earth and desire to create lasting impact for a healthier planet.
She has experience working on a wide range and scale of landscapes, buildings, and infrastructure projects. She thrives on collaboration, challenge, and diversity, and brings nature-based thinking and enthusiasm to the table.
Maya’s studies focused on developing resilient, restorative, and just urban-scapes. She believes that holistic thinking and meaningful involvement from the community in the decision-making process are crucial components of a successful project.
Maya’s work is influenced by her previous positions at a range of small design firms, at a global engineering company, and at an environmental law group. She has a deep passion for implementing regenerative practices and permaculture principles into urban, cultural, and ecotourism projects. Her love for travel and living abroad, especially throughout Latin America, equips her with a unique perspective and professional proficiency in the Spanish language.
Maya just moved to Flagstaff Arizona, following six years in the Bay Area of California, and a shorter stint in Bend Oregon. She was born and raised in Vermont, and still proudly embodies the work ethic, down-to-earth, rootsy, and genuine culture that she grew up immersed in.
